For getting admission in Medical College in Pakistan, you need to pass PMC MDCAT Exam. Besides MDCAT test, passing FSc/A-Levels with Biology, chemistry and Physics Subjects is compulsory. There are some pre-requisites as well, which is discussed below in detail.

How to get Admission in Medical College in Pakistan

This is common question of every Medical aspirant after passing FSc/A-Levels. Answer to this question is to clear Medical Entrance Test Exam. In 2019 and before the Medical Entrance Test was provincial matter and used to be conducted by admitting university of every province. After 2020 it is now conducted by Pakistan Medical Commission.

The test conducted by PMC is called MDCAT (Medical Dental Colleges Admissions Test). PMC MDCAT is compulsory for admission in any Medical College in Pakistan, either it be Private or Public Sector Medical College.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in Medical College in Pakistan

  • Must pass FSc (Pre-Medical) / A-Levels (Biology, Chemistry and Physics/Maths)
  • Must obtain 65% marks in above
  • Must pass PMC MDCAT

Merit Calculation for Admission in Medical College in Pakistan

  • 10% of SSc/Matric Marks/O-Levels
  • 40% of HSSC/FSc/A-Levels
  • 50% of PMC MDCAT

How to Apply for Admission in Medical Colleges

After completion of 12 years of Education appear in MDCAT (Medical Dental Colleges Admissions Test) conducted by Pakistan Medical Commission. Registration of MDCAT starts normally in month of June every year.

Registration for MDCAT is online process. Students can apply online by visiting PMC website.

MDCAT Test is conducted every year in September in Pakistan and out side Pakistan at specific stations. Test is conducted online through computers in specified Test Centers in major cities of Pakistan.
