There are total 45 Government Medical Colleges in Pakistan. These includes 19 Government Medical Colleges in Punjab, 10 in KPK, 12 in Sindh, 1 in Baluchistan and 3 Government Medical Colleges are in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
In last few years a lot of Private Medical Colleges has been established, but very few new government medical colleges are established. Though the seats are increased a lot of government Sector Medical Colleges.
Government Medical Colleges in Pakistan
Government Medical Colleges are those colleges which are under Health Departments of Province. All the expenses of these colleges are the responsibility of Provincial Government. Most of these colleges are now part of the MTI (Medical Teaching Institute).
All these Medical Colleges are recognized by Pakistan Medical Commission.
